The Forester
B&F 163 RES 54.002
DistributionPhenologyReporting RatePhotos
A very local moth in Kent, restricted mostly to the Sandwich area where it can be readily found by day. Other records away from Sandwich can be seen into West Kent and to make things even trickier with Scarce Forester - the Dover area too. Care is needed to separate the three Forester species; additional literature describes differences in the wing shape and antennae of the males.
Grade 3 — adults are hard to separate from other species, so photos showing all critical ID features will be required, or in some cases a voucher specimen (seek advice before releasing the moth).
