The Lappet
B&F 1642 RES 66.012
DistributionPhenologyReporting RatePhotos
Previously widespread across Kent, in line with the national trend, this species' range has contracted significantly since the 1980s. It can now be found in very few locations across Kent but the Isle of Grain seems to be a reasonably safe bet. Superficially similar to The Drinker, Lappet has a scalloped edges to the wings and no white spots on the forewing.
Grade 1 — adults are generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species, but records outside documented range or flight period may require photos.
