Bedstraw Hawk-moth
B&F 1987 RES 69.014
DistributionPhenologyReporting RatePhotos
A scarce but regular migrant to Kent, this species is now almost annual. It has been recorded in Kent between July and September, following the usual pattern for migrant moths of occasional records inland but the majority along the South and East coast of the County. Similar to Spurge Hawk-moth, this species has a thinner pale stripe across the forewing which does not arc towards the leading edge.
Grade 2 — adults can be confused with other species, so good quality photographs or possibly a specimen will be required if the recorder is not familiar with the species.
