Frosted Green

DistributionPhenologyReporting RatePhotos
A local species in Kent, found mostly in ancient Oak woodland to the West of Ashford. This is an early spring species, flying in March and April, which may explain the lack of data on this species from mobile trapping. Fairly distinctive with a green tinge to the wings and obvious tufted 'ears' on top of the head. It is superficially similar to some of the Lutestrings, but the aforementioned criteria should clear up any confusion.
Grade 1 — adults are generally distinctive and unlikely to be confused with other species, but records outside documented range or flight period may require photos.
